““The best leaders make us feel uncomfortable and unsure. And then we grow.” ”
They want you to be present more than they need you to be perfect. Sometimes, the most valuable thing we can do is help people see their blind spots and recognise the sources of their resistance. This can be uncomfortable as they may feel embarrassed, frustrated or even angry. In reality, discomfort can also create awareness, and awareness creates the possibility for growth. And I do this through courageous coaching and conscious listening.
I listen carefully, reflect back what I hear and sense, and create the space for people to see what may otherwise remain hidden from them. I am not there to tell people what they should see, I just help them see it for themselves. This is because coaching is not only about helping people do their jobs well. It is about helping them understand themselves more deeply, challenge what is holding them back, and step more fully into who they are capable of becoming.
