There’s a big difference between telling the others and finding the others. Telling the others comes across as, “I need your support, please tell everyone about me”, but the truth is, no one really cares. Finding the others, on the other hand, means connecting with people who already share your interests, values, or goals. When they support and spread the word, it reflects positively on them and it makes them look smart, connected, and ahead of the curve. And I think that’s something people actually care about.
