I think it starts with understanding that leadership is a never-ending learning journey. If you want to become a more transformational, inclusive or empathetic leader, you must be willing to do the work yourself. That means developing self-awareness, questioning your assumptions and understanding how your behaviour, decisions and use of power influence the people around you. The most effective leaders I have encountered throughout my career are those who actively develop leadership in others.
